Meet Me | Mentoring in the Middle

Meet Me

I have been a teacher for 20 years!  Not bad for someone who never thought, not in a million years, that she'd become a teacher.  I liked school.  I just never wanted to be a teacher.

Until I started to teach Sunday School.
And, I am.

I am a very curious person, and I love exploring, so using technology, although it doesn't always come naturally to me, is a big part of what I do in my classroom.  I also love to read, and you'll find me talking about books a lot on my blog.  I'm a sucker for a good bookstore.  Gimme a cup of something warm - coffee or tea, usually decaf (except in the morning) - and a good book and I'm happy.

After my first husband passed away many years ago, I thought I'd be going it alone, raising three kids and teaching.  And I did, until this great guy came along and jumped on board with our crazy family of now, three young adult children: a son and two daughters.  Bless his heart!  He joined our family when they were all teenagers.

Outside of school, you can find me happiest running around the neighborhood (slow and steady is my favorite speed), gardening, singing, and cooking.

I started making and selling products on TeachersPayTeachers in 2012.  I think reading and writing are tied together, so my lessons combine the two in rigorous, thoughtful ways.
